Following the recent NMC modification event for the BSc (Hons) Adult Nursing Practice programme in the Sunderland School of Nursing, in Partnership with local NHS Foundation Trusts, County Durham and Darlington NHS FT, Newcastle Hospitals NHS FT and North Tees and Hartlepool NHS FT; we are seeking to appoint to three new posts of Senior Lecturer -Clinical Link Tutor/Placement Co-ordinator.
The Sunderland School of Nursing hosts our nursing undergraduate and post graduate provision and continued professional development (CPD), and these posts will assist us in the further development of our vision for teaching and research in nursing, pharmacy, health and healthcare sciences.
Supporting the pre-registration nursing programme this dual role will involve facilitating learning in the classroom and clinical practice. Experience of supervision of student projects, along with placement support will be a requirement of the role.
To be considered for this post you must have a degree in a health related discipline or equivalent experience, together with experience of up to date knowledge of contemporary nursing practice and current trends in teaching and learning in nursing. A teaching qualification or willingness to undertake one will be essential.
A Higher degree or equivalent in a cognate discipline, together with experience of either teaching in higher education or training and development in a relevant area of study are all desirable for this role. NMC Teacher registration is desirable.
The post also requires a broad range of clinical experience, communication and presentation skills with evidence of teaching clinical skills in a practice setting and with students in higher education.
