The School of Nursing and Midwifery at Plymouth University is investing in a range of appointments at Lecturer and Senior Academic level to drive up our teaching excellence and research capacity in areas of strategic importance in health and social care. We are expanding our provision and are committed to building and sustaining effective partnerships in programme development to meet workforce need, excellence in teaching, innovation and co-produced research. Central to this strategy is our development of a clinical school model with four professorial led research units in local NHS Trusts. Our strong ethos is on widening participation in student recruitment and innovative academic opportunities to engage our alumni.
We are looking to appoint an appropriately qualified and experienced candidate to strengthen our leadership in partnership working with primary care providers. We were named Healthcare Education Provider of the Year at the GP Awards 2012 for our GP nurse programme, and are engaging with a new GP surgery in Plymouth as part of a social enterprise partnership between Plymouth University and Plymouth Community Healthcare. We offer undergraduate programmes, postgraduate provision and CPD. You will possess strong academic leadership skills, teaching excellence and a track record of research to contribute to the School’s research programme. You will hold a professional qualification in one of the followings General Practice Nursing, Advanced Nursing Practice or Specialist Practitioner: District Nursing and possess a Supplementary Prescribing qualification or an Independent Supplementary Prescribing qualification.
You should possess appropriate professional qualifications, registration on Sub Part 1 of the NMC register is essential, relevant post registration experience as an Adult Nurse, a Higher Degree in health or a related subject, and an NMC recorded teaching qualification
This position is full-time working 37 hours per week on a permanent basis.
