Manchester Metropolitant University are seeking a Senior Lecturer (Advanced Nurse Practitioner) to work in our Nursing department which covers a range of undergraduate, post registration and professional development programmes.
The successful applicant will be expected to support students across a range of programmes, and work collaboratively with both practice staff, and other professionals within the Faculty, and NHS stakeholders across the region. In addition the applicant may be expected to support course developments/delivery which seek to address some of the current DH requirements to improve unscheduled care provision.
The BSc (Hons) Adult Nursing programme has a reputation of high standing and has been commended by the Nursing & Midwifery Council and achieved 96 % satisfaction by students in the 2014 National Student Survey. The programme also achieved recognition in the 2013 Student Nursing Times awards as ‘Best Adult Nursing Provider’. The programme offers qualifying students the opportunity to undertake a validated Acute Illness Management course as part of their third year studies, thereby enhancing their clinical skills and employability.
The Department’s CPD provision includes Health Visiting and Community Health programmes, and an eclectic mix of shorter CPD courses and awards such as: Non-Medical Prescribing, Mentor preparation and a part time BSc Hons Contemporary Health Practice.
Staff are expected to engage fully with the University Link Lecturer role which seeks to support both students and mentors in practice.
The applicant must hold current registration with the NMC as an Adult Nurse, educated to post graduate level and ideally with a PGCE, and experience working within Higher Education.
