The School of Health and Life Sciences, as the largest provider of nursing & midwifery education in Scotland, is seeking to appoint a Senior Lecturer to join our existing team of academic and professional leads and adult nursing staff. The successful applicant will join the academic community within the University of the West of Scotland, ranked by Times Higher Education (2018 World University Rankings) in the top 500 of universities worldwide, and with an overall student satisfaction rate of 84.9% in the 2018 National Student Survey.
As an experienced health professional, you will hold an NMC professional adult nursing registration, as well as a PhD in a health related area (or be working towards this). A postgraduate qualification in education/teaching and learning, and HEA fellowship are desirable.
As a Senior Lecturer, you will have shared leadership of the adult nursing and healthcare division on a designated Scottish Campus. You will be responsible for strengthening inter-disciplinary learning across health and social care education, contributing to the delivery of teaching, research and learning activities, as well as to the development and enhancement of research and commercialisation. You will contribute to the enhancement of the student experience, by supporting the delivery of the undergraduate and postgraduate adult nursing programmes, as well as contributing to the wider educational portfolio through subject specialism.
You will be based at one of our Scottish Campuses with scheduled activities at our other campus locations and will share various responsibilities with other Senior Lecturers from across the School.
