The Faculty of Health and Social Sciences (HSS) is central to this vision. As a Senior Lecturer (Academic) in Criminology you will deliver high academic standards through a fusion of excellent education, informed by a credible research profile and through professional engagement.
You will help raise the national and international profile of the Faculty and our social science provision in the area of criminology, contribute to the growth of the academic community and continue to develop personal areas of scholarship and research expertise.
As a Senior Lecturer, you will perform a leadership role in teaching and learning across the growing suite of criminology programmes. The criminology team in the Department of Social Sciences and Social Work take an interdisciplinary social scientific approach to criminology.
Within these parameters, we would welcome applicants with expertise in any area of the discipline. You will have opportunities to link with academic colleagues across the Faculty and University in taking forward the research and education agenda.
You will be qualified to Doctoral level or be able to demonstrate the ability to create and disseminate knowledge at an equivalent level and the capability to convert this knowledge into a doctorate in a maximum of 3-5 years from date of appointment. You will be research active and committed to a culture of academic excellence and continuous improvement.
