The Division of Nursing, School of Health Studies, University of Bradford is seeking to appoint an External Examiner for the academic session commencing September 2014. A background in the field of Nursing or Midwifery is required along with evidence of scholarly activity.
The programme recruits 90 students per year to three cohorts, September, March and June. The majority of students are Nurses and Midwives although the programme is open to the Allied Health Professions. A sample range of assessed work at levels 5 and 6 will be required to be reviewed and ratified. Opportunity to review practice will be provided.
The tenure of appointment is for a one year period in the first instance, normally followed by a further three year period. All appointments are subject to approval by the Academic Quality Unit in the university.
The two tier examination board system comprises of Module Assessment Committees and School Boards of Examiners. All External Examiners are members of the School’s Committees/Boards of Examiners and have the right to be present at all meetings. The External Examiner is required to be present at the relevant Board of Examiner’s meetings for the modules s/he is responsible for.
