For this role we are seeking a candidate with strong academic, collaborative and engaging leadership ability. We are open to candidates from any areas of nursing who have a commitment to interdisciplinary working and external engagement. Nursing plays a significant role within our school and there is a wealth of research that we wish to capitalise upon within the discipline and beyond. While we are open in terms of specialisation, we would be particularly interested in candidates with expertise in children and young people, mental health, older people, dementia, integrated care, long term conditions and global health. For the right candidate, we would be open to supporting the development of a dedicated research group, which they would lead. We would expect you to have credibility with academics at all levels and senior staff in industry and practice.

The successful candidate will be a Registered Nurse with a strong clinical profile. The post holder will have a sustained and significant track record, of delivering world leading research and/or significant strategic experience of nursing leadership in academia. In terms of research we would expect candidates to be capable of – creating and delivering programmes of research, securing external research funding, publishing high quality outputs, supervising postgraduate students to completion, growing research capacity, generating significant research impact. In terms of leadership, candidates should have extensive experience related to the academic leadership to undergraduate, postgraduate and/or practice-based educational programmes, and be confident in participating in relevant policy development and national debate.

Enterprise forms a strong part of our School portfolio and we are looking for a candidate who can support and contribute to the Enterprise Strategy in the School. The strategy focuses on several aspects including: continuous professional development (non- accredited programmes/bespoke delivery), commercialisation of our facilities/simulation suites, turning invention into innovation from research outputs and being involved in the submission of tenders and consultancy work.
