This is a joint appointment between Keele University and the University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust (UHNM). The post holder will be expected to make a substantial contribution to the research agendas of both UHNM and Keele University. There will be clear links between the post holder’s research activity, the curriculum and direct patient care. The post holder will be expected to offer support and leadership to the academic team and clinical staff in both organisations and deliver appropriate teaching in the area of women’s health.
The Professor of Women’s Health will fulfil an academic role focused on establishing collaborative research and service improvement partnerships with academic, clinical, voluntary sector and commercial partners locally, nationally and internationally. Research income generation and demonstrating impact through translational knowledge and the implementation / practice development initiatives are key performance indicators for this role.
It is expected that you will take a full part in the life of the School, including an appropriate share in administrative and other responsibilities, which will primarily include furthering the School’s activities within the University and promoting programmes nationally and internationally.
You will contribute to the teaching of undergraduate/postgraduate pathways, and supervise and support PhD students.
You will be responsible to the Head of School, School of Nursing & Midwifery, Keele University, and the Chief Nurse/Director of Research & Development, UHNM.
