The College of Human and Health Sciences is seeking to expand its research strength in nursing through the appointment of a Professor who is required to provide academic leadership, by developing and mentoring academic colleagues so that they may drive forward the research agenda of the Department and the College; develop a sustained output of internationally recognised research publications; generate substantial research funding commensurate with the role; and make a significant contribution in the Research Excellence Framework (REF), building on the performance within the REF2104 Allied Health Professions submission, where 77% of the overall profile was rated as ‘world leading’ or ‘internationally excellent.’

Excellence in Research:

The results of the Research Excellence Framework (REF) 2014 show Swansea University has achieved its ambition to be a top 30 research University, soaring up to the league table to 26th in the UK from 52nd in 2008. This is the largest climb up the rankings of any research-intensive University in the UK.

The University is an extremely attractive employer offering excellent terms and conditions of employment including family friendly policies and staff development and continuing professional development.
