The College of Health and Social Care is seeking to appoint a Professor with a proven track record of research, publication and successful bidding for grants in the area of Nursing. The applicant should demonstrate substantial experience in clinical practice, leadership and have an in depth knowledge of their specialism. The applicant should have a significant national track record and an emerging / established international reputation within their research field.
You will be expected to make a substantial contribution to research strategy for the College as well as providing academic leadership to the research team. Your own contribution to research should be beginning to be recognised in an international context (as defined through the Research Excellence Framework) and you should take forward new research programmes, including establishing, developing and winning external funding. You will be expected to lead the Research team, and undertake collaborations within and outside of the University, for example with with public and private partners, NHS, research funders, government agencies and other partners.
As well as forwarding your own research career, you would be expected to support College academic staff to engage in research and scholarship and to support and contribute to the College REF strategy. This will include supporting our developing culture of scholarship and research, supporting others with grant applications / bids, writing for publication, and other activities that contribute to this culture.
You should be abreast of developments, innovations and policy changes across the Health and Care sector.
