This post will be for a fixed term period of one year to provide cover for an academic team member who is undertaking academic work on sabbatical leave.

Wrexham Glyndwr University seeks to appoint a Professional Lead for Occupational Therapy within the Faculty of Social and Life Sciences.

The Faculty of Social and Life Sciences has a strong reputation in the design and delivery of innovative programmes that reflect today’s health sector employment needs. Our courses are designed to have relevance, with practical applications to real world settings. We aim to ensure that students will gain not only a valuable qualification, but also transferable skills to allow them to fulfil their ambitions.

The Professional Lead will undertake line management tasks as delegated by the Associate Dean as well as developing innovative programmes to grow the portfolio. The post-holders will work collaboratively with other professional disciplines to ensure an appropriately inter-professional curriculum and working practices are developed and maintained.

The portfolio area currently offers undergraduate and taught post-graduate courses with a clear vocational theme. Engagement at national and international level with relevant government, health board and other high level stakeholders is a vital part of the role so the role-holder will need to demonstrate an aptitude for such stakeholder engagement and the ability to see ‘the bigger picture’ regarding strategic initiatives and challenges facing the health and higher education sectors.
