We are investing in our senior academic provision and seeking to appoint a Principal Lecturer who will be an inspiring senior academic with leadership, enterprise and research skills relevant to the School and specific to Health Promotion and Public Health. The successful candidate will lead and manage the Health Promotion team to promote excellence in teaching and learning including an established and well respected international portfolio. They will work with key individuals including the Readers and Professors in the Health Promotion team, the wider school and faculty to further develop research, and enterprise activity.
To be considered for interview applicants are required to have a doctoral qualification in an area relevant Public Health / Health Promotion. The successful candidate must be able to lead an academic team from divergent professional disciplines within public health and health promotion.
Experience of developing global, national and local partnerships and having excellent networks will be an asset. Applicants will also need to have a good knowledge of current issues, debates and policies in the field of Public Health and Health Promotion.
The School of Health and Wellbeing includes the subject areas of Public Health and Health Promotion; Nutrition and Dietetics; Environmental Health and Health and Safety. Alongside and integral to the portfolio undergraduate and postgraduate degree courses and significant delivery of CPD courses, the School works within the Institute for Health and Wellbeing to undertake national and world leading research in the areas of Health Promotion, Health Communities and Community engagement, Nutrition and childhood obesity and Men’s health. We are committed to a broad and integrated programme of health and social research which addresses national and international issues related to health and wellbeing.
