Tenure: The Principal Lecturer post is a permanent position. The Programme Director role linked to this post is a 3 year rotational position and will be subject to review at the end of the 3 year period.

A Principal Lecturer and Programme Director is required to fulfil the programme directorship role for the BSc Health and Social Care programme. The successful candidate will exercise academic leadership in the discipline of Health and Social Care in both teaching and research activities, and will lead the development of post graduate and CPD provision within the discipline of Health and Social Care.
You should hold a doctoral level qualification, and be a member of a professional body with the ability to achieve Fellow Status as part of the Higher Education Academy’s Professional Recognition scheme. An in depth knowledge of, and national/ international recognition in the discipline of Health and Social Care is essential.
The post holder will have experience of leading on the development of academic strategies, as well as experience of reviewing staff and managing performance. It is desirable that the post holder has experience of professional practice in the field of Health and Social Care.
The role of Programme Director is critical to the successful and effective day-to-day management and delivery of the BSc (Hons) Health and Social Care programme. The Programme Director is responsible for the academic leadership, delivery, quality assurance performance enhancement, management and administration of the programme.
