Hull York Medical School has been training Physician Associates since 2016. Our students undertake an intensive two-year Masters (MSc) Programme in Physician Associate (PA) Studies to meet the requirements of the National PA Curriculum and Competency Framework. We aim to recruit from the local biosciences graduate population and train and retain PAs as valuable members of the healthcare workforce within the region. Our programme is medically led and delivered in collaboration with our NHS partners.
This is an exciting opportunity for a PA graduate to join our faculty for one day per week and contribute to the ongoing development and delivery of our programme to ensure that our PA students have an excellent training experience and develop into important future local healthcare professionals. As a practising PA, you will be in a unique position to role model professional responsibilities and behaviours and contribute to all elements of PA education and training.
You will be a qualified Physician Associate and a member of the UK PA Managed Voluntary Register actively working in a clinical role. You will be able to demonstrate your enthusiasm and commitment to teaching, learning and assessment supported by experience and if possible an academic qualification in healthcare education. You will be an excellent teacher, role model and mentor, always setting a high standard. You will have outstanding personal qualities including communication, team working, organisational and presentation skills, with the ability to work effectively, responsibly and under pressure, both independently and with colleagues and students.
To discuss this role informally please contact Dr Andy Brown (Programme Director, MSc in Physician Associate Studies), firstname.lastname@example.org.
