Oxford Brookes University is seeking to appoint an experienced and suitably qualified academic, with a specialist practice qualification in District Nursing as external examiner for the above programme.

The PGDip in Community Nursing in the Home / District Nursing (DN) comprises six single modules and one none credit bearing module, four of which are compulsory and two of which are chosen from a possible four acceptable modules. An external examiner is required to review the community specialist practice modules. The remaining modules are cross faculty and reviewed by other external examiners. The programme currently includes the V100 qualification but is being reapproved to include the V300. The post requires external moderation of assessments, completion of an annual monitoring report and attendance at the relevant Boards of Examiners.

The appointment will be with effect from November 2016 and will be for a full 4-year term. Full course details and documentation will be provided to the appointee and an induction day will be offered – to be held at the University following appointment. Whilst previous experience as an External Examiner is desirable, consideration would be given to those seeking their first appointment.
