Six full-time posts have arisen for enthusiastic adult nurses to join the Adult Nursing teaching team in the School of Health and Social Work at the University of Hertfordshire. Three of these posts have arisen due to moves or retirement of previous post-holders, and the other three have arisen due to increased commissions for adult nursing within London and Hertfordshire. The pre-registration nursing programme at the University of Hertfordshire is a large provision encompassing all four fields of practice, revalidated by the Nursing and Midwifery Council in 2011, and the Adult Nursing pathway is offered at both BSc and MSc level. The School of Health and Social Work also has a comprehensive portfolio of CPD programmes, modules and short courses, as well as opportunities for international teaching, research, coaching, and consultancy.
The University of Hertfordshire offers good opportunities for staff development, and has established welfare, sporting and recreational facilities for both staff and students. The posts would be based at the College Lane Campus, and informal visits are welcome.
The post holder should hold current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council, and ideally will also hold a teaching qualification, or be willing to work towards one. Applications from those with a variety of backgrounds in Adult Nursing are welcome, but in particular, applications are sought from those with intensive care qualifications; cardiac care and resuscitation backgrounds; tissue viability experience; interests in care of the elderly and dementia care; and those with experience in simulation training for clinical skills.
