We are seeking an enthusiastic and ambitious learning disability nursing lecturer to join our team. You will be a specialist in one or more areas of learning disability nursing with a strong commitment to nursing and health professional education.

In the School of Human and Health Sciences we pride ourselves on a student-centred approach to teaching, learning and welfare, and you will be an integral part of this. You will be involved in a range of cutting edge teaching and learning strategies including Team Based Learning and Interprofessional and Peer Learning.

Our current undergraduate cohort size is 25. We are in the process of reviewing the structure of our learning disability nurse education. At the core of our learning disability nurse education is developing meaningful involvement of people with learning disabilities and carers in our educational strategies.

Current registration with the NMC or HCPC and a master’s degree in a relevant subject are essential. You must be a member of the Health Education Academy (HEA) or have capacity to obtain membership within 12 months of appointment. You must be prepared to register and study towards a doctorate if you do not already hold one.

The School is committed to investment in learning disability nurse education. You will make an essential contribution to course development and the direction of learning disability nursing at the University of Huddersfield.
