Further your Career in Nursing with Edinburgh Napier University

Why join us?

Edinburgh Napier is one of the largest providers of nursing and midwifery education in Scotland; with a further significant profile across the wider UK and a strong transnational education portfolio. Our provision is unique as we are the only providers of all four fields of nursing education (adult, mental health, learning disabilities and child health) and midwifery at pre-registration level. We are an ambitious School with a clear vision; to have a positive impact on society. We know it’s our staff who will deliver that vision and so there are many opportunities for development.

We have a strong reputation within the field of Adult Nursing that we are keen to develop further. Our nurse education programmes at undergraduate and postgraduate level are designed for all four fields of practice and are informed by innovative applied research. To support this we are looking to recruit three lecturers in Nursing.

Who Are We Looking For?

These lectures will primarily support our existing pre-registration nursing programmes and the development of our new ones. They will keep integration and collaboration at the forefront of this, and will work with our other academics, ensuring that our teaching is innovative and strongly applied to practice.

You will also focus on research and other scholarly activity that will shape curricula, demonstrate our impact and ensure we grow our reputation for evidence informed teaching and learning. We are keen to speak to candidates with a background in either acute adult nursing, non-medical prescribing and quality improvement. It is not essential that all applicants have a nursing qualification, but they must have a background in health and social care and be able and willing to teach on the nursing programmes.
