An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the existing teaching team, as a committed and passionate Teaching Fellow/ Lecturer. Following the implementation of the Nursing Associate role, the department is seeking candidates who uphold the overall mission of the University by providing high quality, accessible learning opportunities, promoting academic enquiry and advancement of knowledge.
This is a varied, fast paced and demanding role that requires the candidate to regularly teach, assess and facilitate academic development and support students and requires innovation in teaching and delivery of the programme. You will be required to act as module coordinator. You will need to demonstrate effective organisational skills, time management and confidence in dealing with large groups of students. Experience in a variety of nursing environments is desirable. You will work closely with practice and university colleagues to support the Trainee Nursing Associates and mentors in the clinical setting as a personal tutor, therefore previous experience of supporting students in the clinical setting is essential. You will need to demonstrate an understanding of the Nursing associate role and Higher Apprenticeship standards. You will also be expected to contribute to our research and scholarly activities.
You must hold at least a first degree in a Health related subject and demonstrate on-going personal and professional development and appropriate study around relevant subject matter. Applicants must also hold current registration with the NMC as a Registered Nurse. Previous teaching in a Higher Education setting would be desirable, but the successful applicants would be offered a place on the University’s highly regarded Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching in Higher Education.
