Lecturer (Welsh Medium) in Mental Health Nursing / Practice

Grade 7 or Grade 8: £30,728 – £45,053 p.a. (dependent on experience and qualifications).

Applications are invited for the above post in mental health nursing / practice funded as part of the Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol. This is an innovative post to foster and develop Welsh-medium teaching in nursing and healthcare sciences, with a particular emphasis on developing post-graduate degree programmes in dementia and mental health care.

The successful candidate will become part of an ambitious team of healthcare academics within the College of Health and Behavioural Sciences. As lead provider for nursing and healthcare sciences in higher education through the medium of Welsh, the School is strongly committed to strengthen and mainstream this provision whilst increasing its focus on research activity and academic excellence. As such, the candidate will closely engage with Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol activities and participate in cross-institutional teaching.

Experience of professional healthcare practice through the medium of Welsh is essential.

The successful candidate will be expected to start in September 2014 (or sooner if possible) and the post is initially for a duration of five years. Applications on a job-share and / or secondment basis are welcome. Dependant on applications received, consideration may also be given to the appointment of two 0.5 FTE posts as opposed to one full time post.
