This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Midwife or an established Midwifery academic to join the Department of Midwifery and CPD in the Three Counties School of Nursing and Midwifery. The post is full time, supporting delivery of the innovative, values based BSc (Hons) Midwifery programme, which is a UNICEF Baby Friendly Initiative accredited course achieving 100% overall student satisfaction in the NSS 2020 and the BSc/MSc Shortened Midwifery programme. The aim of the programme is to ensure that midwives, at the point of registration, are equipped to provide skilled, knowledgeable, respectful and compassionate care.

The successful candidate will join a team of enthusiastic, committed, and friendly staff and will work collaboratively with colleagues across the Department, School and the wider University. Our Midwifery academics have a growing scholarly, research and publication profile and are committed to building on achievements in learning, teaching and research.

By utilising expert knowledge and skills, the post holder will teach across the BSc (Hons) Midwifery, the BSc/MSc Shortened Midwifery programme and other courses within the School, as well as leading agreed MSc CPD modules and supervising student independent studies and MSc research projects. The post holder will engage in curriculum development, using salutogenic principles to develop flexible practitioners who can transfer and synthesise skills and knowledge to meet the demands of differing practice environments, recognising the accountability and responsibilities of the midwife’s role.
