In this context, the School of Nursing and Midwifery is seeking to appoint an outstanding academic or practitioner who will join a highly professional and motivated team to teach across our nursing programmes.
The post holder will be committed to promoting academic enquiry, helping develop critical thinking in students by supporting safe, effective and evidence-based practice. The focus of this post is on the delivery of our clinical skills, simulation and practice agenda. By providing expert knowledge, you will lead agreed modules, assess students and supervise research projects. Participating in professional scholarship and re-validation will also be essential. The candidate should be able to draw upon his or her own subject knowledge to design teaching sessions that maximise the integration of theory to practice.
The School is committed to inter-disciplinary simulated learning and the successful candidate will further enhance these developments. The post holder will be expected to teach a range of core clinical skills within the nursing programmes, which will include student assessment.
Selections Methods:
Short-listed candidates will be invited to interview and will be asked to deliver a twenty-minute teaching session to a small panel role-playing 2nd year nursing students on the following topic: ‘Introduction to respiratory assessment’
The Chair of this group will provide feedback on the presentation to the interview panel.
