An exciting opportunity exists within in the Faculty of Health, Education and Society at the University of Northampton to work within an established team of staff delivering teaching and learning within the Paramedic Science programmes.

We are seeking an experienced paramedic science educator to join our enthusiastic team and undertake the delivery of paramedic science and related subjects at academic levels 4-7. Lecturers will be expected to lead on Modules, supervise undergraduate dissertations, and take the lead on one of the departments core non-teaching initiatives. Our portfolio includes both full-time and part-time delivery of education at BSc, MSc and PhD levels across the various Health professions.
The successful candidate for this post will be required to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly CRB) Check.

About You
We are looking for a dynamic and innovative educator to inspire undergraduate and postgraduate students and you will be a paramedic with appropriate academic and/or professional experience. Evidence of level 7 study/qualification is essential. Applicants must hold current registration with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC). Additionally, membership of the College of Paramedics (CoP) is desirable. We would particularly welcome applicants that have a Bioscience interest or background.

You will be able to deliver high quality teaching and learning through a variety of different mediums, including Active Blended Learning (ABL) through our VLE as well as support simulation teaching in the paramedic simulation suite.

Applicants must be able to provide an outstanding research-informed, personalised student learning experience; demonstrating creativity and innovation in the effective development, planning, delivery and assessment of a wide variety of learning opportunities to enable high quality student outcomes.

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Degree qualification or equivalent in relevant subject
  • Registration with HCPC and College of Paramedics -Professional Recognition as HEA Fellow (D2) or teaching qualification recognised by HESA, or willingness to obtain within an agreed timescale
  • Master’s degree in relevant subject

Desirable:

  • Doctorate in relevant subject, completed or within 12 months of completion
