The University of Brighton has an excellent reputation for midwifery education which is reflected in the exceptional NSS scores. In addition, the School of Health Sciences is investing in high fidelity midwifery specific simulation facilities at the Eastbourne campus. As a member of the midwifery knowledge subject group, an innovative team who place a strong emphasis on partnership working with practice, you will be contributing to the teaching in our current midwifery degree programmes. You will have up to date knowledge of midwifery practice including current professional/vocational developments and the range of generic clinical skills required to teach this area of provision. In addition, you will be registered with the NMC as a midwife, have a recordable Lecturer/Practice Educator qualification and a Masters in a health or midwifery related subject area or a postgraduate qualification/PhD. Alternatively, you will be committed to obtaining a relevant higher degree/professional qualification. If you have a PhD or Doctorate you will have opportunities to develop, as the university has an active programme for supporting early career researchers. This role is based at our Eastbourne campus, however, you will be expected to travel to other campuses.
