We are seeking an outstanding and inspiring member of staff to join our successful and highly committed team in delivering the Pre-registration Midwifery programme. This would be an ideal opportunity for a clinically based midwife with a track record of supporting excellent student learning in practice to develop their career in higher education. The new BSc Midwifery curriculum utilises an enquiry based learning model and seeks to develop critical, competent and compassionate practitioners who can make a positive contribution towards and impact upon midwifery practice.
The Institute works in collaboration with Trust partners to ensure future practitioners are fit for purpose. The Institute is committed to inter-professional learning and engagement of service users in the curriculum. The University of Worcester enjoys a strategic partnership with the National Childbirth Trust and is committed to developing a unique portfolio of courses in relation to the antenatal, perinatal and parenting agenda.
The post holder will be expected to teach and lead agreed modules, assess students, supervise undergraduate research studies, engage in curriculum development, participate in scholarly activity and contribute to the administrative work of the Unit and Institute.
Staff within the academic unit contribute to NMC approved undergraduate degree programmes and it is essential that the appointee is able to adopt a flexible approach to the subjects they teach.
Short-listed candidates invited to interview will be asked to deliver a fifteen-minute presentation to representatives of the Institute (followed by 5 minutes questions) on a topic relevant to their practice that would enhance pre-registration midwifery education.
The Chair of this group will provide feedback on the presentation to the interview panel.
