Forensic Psychology is evolving constantly.

So is the way we teach it.

At the University of Derby, innovation is in our DNA. That’s why we’re going from strength to strength, with 34,000 students, including 1,700 from overseas – people whose futures we will transform via industry-relevant, expert teaching. It’s also why we’ve redefined the way we approach Forensic Psychology, now embedded at the heart of a brand-new School of Psychology within our College of Health, Psychology and Social Care.

Working within the Discipline of Forensic Psychology, you will redefine best practice in learning and pedagogy for our undergraduate, postgraduate, and professional programmes. Equally importantly, you will enjoy close involvement in departmental administration and development, benefit from extensive support to pursue your research and support us in the development and expansion of our portfolio.

To join us, you will have a PhD in Forensic Psychology, membership pf the BPS, plus a Fellow/Senior Fellowship of the HEA (or a willingness to work towards it). A capable and confident teacher, you will be skilled in module and programme leadership, adept at developing curricula and experienced in publishing in high quality, peer-reviewed research. You will also be a passionate advocate for Forensic Psychology, sharing our determination to operate at the forefront of this exciting and evolving discipline, and will be capable of communicating complex concepts to diverse audiences and securing their buy-in. Most importantly, you will be a true innovator, whose fresh and inspiring approaches will help us take our place as one of the leading global universities in the field of Psychology.

Applications from job seekers who require sponsorship to work in the UK are welcome and will be considered alongside all other applications.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and expect everyone who works for us to also share this commitment and to treat people with courtesy and respect.
