This is an exciting opportunity for an exceptional and experienced nurse, midwife or allied health professional with evidence of excellent professional and educational practice to join a team of enthusiastic and committed staff within the School of Nursing and Midwifery. The post holder will act as the health science lead for our highly successful BSc (Hons) Nursing and BSc (Hons) Midwifery Programmes. The post holder will also be required to teach across the School in areas of particular specialist knowledge for example in Foundation degrees and CPD programmes, Public Health and MSc Advancing Clinical Practice Programmes

The post holder will be required to have extensive knowledge and understanding in applied biological sciences e.g. Anatomy/Physiology/Pathophysiology/Biomedicine/Human Nutrition.

Equipped with expert knowledge, the post holder will teach and lead modules, participate in the assessment process, supervise undergraduate and post graduate research and contribute to curriculum development. The post holder will be committed to supporting the University of Worcester’s strategic objectives in promoting the academic enquiry that develops critical thinking in students at all levels and which supports an excellent student experience with high quality, inclusive learning opportunities. The post holder will need to demonstrate commitment to Service user and Carer involvement in course development and delivery; an increasingly important aspect of our work, as is inter-professional and interagency working.

Candidates invited to interview will be required to deliver a 20 minute interactive small group teaching session (followed by 5 minutes of questions) for Level 4 students on the BSc (Hons) Nursing Programme. The title of the workshop is: ‘Understanding healthy ageing’. The Chair of this panel will feed back to the main interview panel.
