This is an exciting opportunity to join the School as a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Adult Nursing. We have 2 permanent posts and 3 fixed-term posts (3 years). You will join a large and friendly academic team which has a long-standing, successful track record in delivering nurse and nursing associate education at all levels of study. The role requires an enthusiastic, committed and student-focused individual who is keen to play a key role in the provision of high-quality, evidence-informed nursing and nursing associate education.

We have exciting programmes newly validated for student nurses (BSc & MSc), student nursing associates and aspiring Advanced Clinical Practitioners as well as BSc & MSc programmes in Contemporary Nursing. We are highly commended for our engagement with practice partners and service users and we welcome applications from NMC Registered Nurses (Adult) who wish to join this forward-looking team. Main duties & responsibilities are to contribute to the development, delivery and evaluation of learning and teaching activity in Adult Nursing mainly Pre-registration Nursing (BSc & MSc-including apprenticeship) and the Nursing Associate Degree Apprenticeship programme with the possibility of contributing to short courses and CPPD programmes. At Senior Lecturer level you would be expected to take on Module Leadership.

We are looking for new colleagues with experience of teaching nursing students and knowledge of current NMC requirements and standards of proficiency. A teaching qualification and a record of publications would be desirable at Senior Lecturer level. You will be able to demonstrate evidence of teamworking and working autonomously as well as having excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Qualifications required: Registered Nurse (Registered with the NMC as an Adult nurse). Honours Degree (2:2 or above), or higher level qualification. A Master’s Degree or a Level 7 qualification such as a PgDip is essential for the Senior Lecturer post. A teaching qualification is desirable for the Senior Lecturer post.
