Staffordshire University is a leading university for the delivery of the BSc (Hons) Paramedic Science course. The Centre of Excellence in Healthcare Education at Stafford has three dedicated paramedic skills laboratories and a fully functional ambulance to facilitate student learning as well as superb student facilities to enhance the commitment to academic excellence and the facilitation of student learning.

Staffordshire University is currently seeking to recruit a suitably qualified and experienced candidate to join the established paramedic teaching team to lead on the development of the paramedic apprenticeship provision. This post is full-time and permanent. Those wanting part-time would be considered. The post is based at The Centre of Excellence in Healthcare Education, Blackheath Lane Campus, Stafford with travel to partner organisations expected when necessary. Travel to the University Stoke Campus is also expected.

The primary role would involve leading the development of the BSc (Hons) Paramedic Science Apprenticeship course, liaising with local prehospital employers and the HCPC to achieve validation. You would also be expected to hold a teaching role as appropriate, involving the preparation and delivery of teaching and learning activity on various aspects of the paramedic science courses including the delivery of clinical skills, theory teaching, personal tutoring, and assessment. The successful applicant will have extensive experience and knowledge of working as a registered paramedic and will be very familiar with the requirements of the paramedic role. Effective teamwork and excellent communication skills are essential. Familiarity with curriculum development, HCPC validation events, apprenticeship requirements and knowledge of HEI teaching and learning activities within the paramedic science undergraduate course would be beneficial.

Applicants must hold a relevant professional qualification or undergraduate degree and registration with the Health and Care Professions Council as a Paramedic is essential.
