This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Surgical Care Practitioner (SCP) to join us in the beautiful South West of England.

We are looking to appoint an appropriately qualified and experienced candidate to contribute to teaching excellence related to all aspects of Nursing and research in the clinical environment with a focus on advanced surgical skills. This will include the development and delivery of undergraduate and postgraduate healthcare programmes. You will also be encouraged to contribute to research within the School and join an appropriate research group.

We offer undergraduate, postgraduate and CPD programmes. Research in the School was rated highly in the REF2014 and continues to grow. The University of Plymouth Clinical Schools initiative is an exciting development, through which applied nursing and midwifery research focuses on topics that are timely and relevant to advancing the quality of care. Existing clusters of research, including e-health, Sustainability and Society and Health, continue to attract external funding and PhD students.

We are looking for someone who can enthuse and engage students, while also contributing to the Schools scholarly and enterprise activities. Experience as an academic in Higher Education is desirable. Credibility and proficiency in Surgical Practice is essential as is registration with the NMC/HCPC.

This vacancy will involve working with children and/or vulnerable adults and any appointment will be subject to receipt of clearance for the Protection of Children from the Disclosure and Barring Service.
