Salary Range:

Challenging, interesting and constantly changing, the University of Derby is an extraordinary place to learn and an incredibly rewarding place to work.

The role will focus on supporting a range of our pre-qualifying students ( nursing associates, assistant practitioners or pre-registration nursing students) both within the University setting and in the workplace. The post holder will be expected to participate in face to face teaching in the University, but also offer support to learners and mentors in practice. The post holder will need to be a registered adult nurse with the NMC.

The University of Derby educates a range of pre-registration / pre-qualification students and we are looking for a new team member to support our teaching team. This role will involve teaching on our foundation degrees for nursing associates / assistant practitioners as well as pre-registration nurses.

The post holder will be innovative and creative in their role and will contribute to enhancing the quality of healthcare education. It is extremely important that our successful candidate not only understands the student experience, but that they genuinely enjoy making a positive impact for them both in and out of classes. We are expanding our student numbers but need to maintain the strong student experience we offer. Most importantly, the post holder will have a strong clinical and educational background.

The post is based at our Kedleston road campus but occasional travel to our Chesterfield campus will be required. This is a fixed term post until the end of March 2019 when we expect our first cohort of nursing associates to complete their training.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and vulnerable adults and expect everyone who works for us to also share this commitment and to treat people with courtesy and respect.
