The appointee will join a dedicated team in delivering the foundation degree in paramedic science and contribute to CPD provision.
The post holder will be a HCPC registered paramedic and will be expected to contribute to the teaching of agreed modules, assess students, supervise undergraduate research studies, engage in curriculum development, participate in scholarly activity and contribute to the administrative work of the Unit and Institute.
Staff within the academic unit contribute to the HCPC approved foundation degree and it is essential that the appointee is able to adopt a flexible approach to the subjects they teach.
Short-listed candidates invited to interview will be asked to deliver a ten-minute presentation (followed by 5 minutes questions) entitled; “What do you envisage will be the key challenges and opportunities for delivering the Paramedic Programme in preparing students for registration” .
The Chair of this group will provide feedback on the presentation to the interview panel.
The post sits within Nursing, Midwifery & Paramedic Science, which is one of four academic units within the Institute of Health & Society. The Institute offers courses ranging from foundation degrees in various specialities in health and social care through to, honours, masters and doctoral level study in a number of disciplines.
The unit has over 90 paramedic students completing foundation degrees and technician to paramedic programmes.
