There is an exciting opportunity to join the University of Leicester’s School of Allied Health Professions as a Lecturer in Nursing, delivering the UK’s first four-year undergraduate master in science nursing with leadership programme. You will join our developing Nursing team who are highly motivated and committed to delivering cutting edge professional education in partnership with students and our clinical colleagues. In this role you will undertake teaching, scholarship and administrative duties in line with the School of Allied Health Professions teaching and research strategies.

To be successful in this role you will be a Nursing and Midwifery Council Registered Nurse with teaching experience in nursing education. You will have a degree in Nursing or a related subject and a relevant master’s degree (or working towards one). You will also have experience of the management and delivery of nursing education programmes and experience in nursing practice.

As an experienced practitioner and educator you will have the ability to facilitate student learning using a comprehensive range of delivery methods including lectures, seminars and tutoring. You will be confident in reviewing, evaluating and developing the key skills of students, being able to develop resource materials to enhance teaching quality. Experience in nurse prescribing would be beneficial.

We have vacancies for two full-time lecturers plus a vacancy for a 30 hours a week post. We would particularly welcome applicants from Children’s Nursing and Mental Health Nursing, although applicants from all fields of nursing are welcome.
