The University of Leicester’s School of Allied Health Professions is continuing to appoint Lecturers in Midwifery to support the delivery of the UK’s first 4-year undergraduate Master in Science with Leadership programme. You will join our developing Midwifery academic team who are highly motivated and committed to delivering cutting edge professional education in partnership with students and our clinical colleagues. In this role you will undertake teaching, scholarship and administrative duties in line with the School of Allied Health Professions teaching and research strategies.

To be successful in this role you will be a Nursing and Midwifery Council Registered Midwife with teaching experience in midwifery practice and in the teaching and assessment of students. You will have a degree in Midwifery or a related subject and a relevant masters degree (or be near completion). You will also have experience of the management and delivery of midwifery education programmes as well as an understanding of leadership theory and its application to midwifery education and practice. Completion of a leadership programme would be advantageous to your role.

As an experienced practitioner and educator you will have the ability to facilitate student learning using a comprehensive range of delivery methods and information technology that includes lectures, seminars and tutoring. You will be confident in reviewing, evaluating and developing the key skills of students, being able to develop resource materials to enhance teaching quality.
