Opportunity for a Lecturer in Mental Health Nursing to work in the Department of Nursing and Midwifery at the University of the Highlands and Islands

To support our work, we are currently recruiting to the following role at the university’s executive office, to be based in our Department of Nursing and Midwifery.

Lecturer in Mental Health Nursing (0.8FTE)
Grade 7 (£37,175 – £43,096 per annum pro rata)

An exciting opportunity has arisen to support delivery of the pre-registration nursing programme within the Department of Nursing and Midwifery and contribute to curriculum development and delivery of pre-registration nurse education.

We are seeking to recruit a Mental Health Nurse who has experience of delivering teaching or supporting nursing students, assessing theory and/or practice at higher education level and have relevant professional experience in an educational role within a practice setting linked to clinical skills. It is essential that you hold professional registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council and have a keen interest in quality improvement. Our ideal candidate will demonstrate an enthusiastic, dynamic, flexible and innovative approach, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

This is an academic post within the Department of Nursing and Midwifery, which is part of a wider established academic team, involving nurse and midwifery education, scholarly activity and research. As part of this wider multi-disciplinary academic team, you will work to the advancement of nursing education within the University and contribute to the planning and teaching of high-quality educational opportunities and scholarship activity. You will be joining a team committed to the enhancement of nursing and midwifery education across the Highland and Islands, and further afield.
