The School of Nursing, Midwifery and Paramedic Practice is offering an exciting opportunity for a suitably experienced and qualified professional to join our team of Lecturers providing high quality education to both pre–registration students and post–registration health care professionals. As a Lecturer in Mental Health Nursing you will join an experienced and motivated team of academics, providing support for teaching and learning across the School’s portfolio of courses and modules.
You will be a committed and motivated professional who will contribute effectively to the planning, delivery and evaluation of learning materials and student learning experiences within courses and modules across our programmes. As well as this, you will develop and use a range of skills to support students as a personal tutor as well as engaging in collaborative working with other academics, practice provider partners and a range of people and communities to enhance the school portfolio and student experience.
With knowledge, experience and skills as well as a degree in a relevant subject (achievement of MSc or PhD or working towards is desirable), you will also be expected to contribute to the wider School portfolio which includes undergraduate and postgraduate Nursing, Midwifery and Paramedic education as well as commercialisation activities. There are also opportunities to undertake applied research in health and social care policy, education and clinical practice which in turn impacts on the health and wellbeing of people, families and communities.

This is a full-time position but we will consider different and flexible contract types, such as part-time working. Whilst we are focussed on educating the next generation of Nurses, Midwives and Paramedics, we also appreciate the desire of some Lecturers to retain skills in their health profession, so we may consider part and full time secondments from your current role.
Grade 7 Salary Scale: £34,804 – 40,322
Grade 8 Salary Scale: £41,526 – 49,553
Salary on appointment will be dependent upon experience.
Candidates with limited or no prior experience as an academic will be placed on the first point of the Grade 7 scale. Consideration will be given to offering an Academic Attraction Payment (adjusted annually) for those candidates who have specific industry knowledge, skills or, expertise which are required for the position.
