This role is to support the development of students’ clinical skills in line with the NMC Standards of Proficiency including designing and delivering theoretical components, practicals and the use of simulation learning. You will participate in recruitment, teaching, support and assessment of students. Students include Adult Field pre-registration (BSc and MSc Programmes), student nursing associates and qualified nurses on a range of modules. You will work with module teams to ensure an engaging, safe and contemporary learning experience. You will also work with sim leads, service users, technical staff and students.
Training and support will be given for the use of specialist equipment for the successful candidates who will be able to demonstrate aptitude for learning such skills.

You will demonstrate and support development of clinical skills using task trainers and other clinical equipment, teach clinical skills, assess students’ skills and knowledge. You will demonstrate and maintain contemporary knowledge of clinical practice and research informed education.

The ideal candidate will be a Registered Nurse (Adult) with current NMC registration, hold a minimum Honours Degree (2:2 or above) and have experience of teaching moving & handling and basic life support.

You should have experience of teaching clinical skills and have, or be willing to undertake a teaching qualification course.

You should be able to demonstrate knowledge of current clinical practice and policies in clinical skills, and be familiar with the current NMC Standards.
