The successful candidate will join a team of enthusiastic, committed and friendly staff within the Academic Unit of Nursing, Midwifery and Paramedic Science delivering the pre-registration nursing degree but will also work collaboratively with colleagues across the Institute and wider University.
The post holder will be expected to teach and lead agreed modules, assess students, supervise undergraduate research studies, engage in curriculum development, participate in scholarly activity and contribute to the administrative work of the Unit and Institute.
The post holder will also engage with our skills and simulated learning agenda which is highly regarded by students and fulfils an essential regulatory requirement in the development of competent graduates. The Institute is committed to inter-disciplinary learning and the successful candidate will further enhance these developments. The Institute has a state of the art simulation centre including hospital, therapy and home environments and also benefits from dedicated skills technicians and a range of technically advanced equipment.
Staff within the academic unit contribute to the NMC approved degree and it is essential that the appointee is able to adopt a flexible approach to the subjects they teach.
Short-listed candidates invited to interview will be asked to deliver a ten-minute presentation (followed by 5 minutes questions) on any area related to their recent research, education or practice development activities. The Chair of this group will provide feedback on the presentation to the interview panel.
