The Hull York Medical School invites applications for Lecturer in Health & Society within the Academy of Primary Care based at the University of Hull.

The Hull York Medical School is a different kind of Medical School. The joint medical school of the Universities of Hull and York, we have a reputation as one of the UKs most exciting, contemporary schools. Our innovative curriculum and focus on problem based learning and early and sustained clinical exposure ensures that students on our MB BS programme develop the problem solving, analytical and communication skills and resilience needed to deliver a high standard of care to people with complex needs and from a variety of backgrounds.

The primary purpose for this role is to lead the design and delivery of educational content for our undergraduate MB BS programme in our longitudinal theme ‘Health and Society’. This aspect of our curriculum incorporates the disciplines underpinning Public Health: epidemiology; evidence-based practice; behavioural sciences; medical sociology; medical statistics; health economics and quality management.

This post will be based within our new Academy of Primary Care. The Academy brings together education, research, clinical and NHS partners to champion innovative scholarship driving excellence in the design and delivery of person-centred healthcare for 21st century health needs.

The successful applicant will have a PhD in a relevant discipline and an established national and an emerging international reputation for professional practice, scholarship and pedagogic development.
