An exciting opportunity exists for a highly motivated and enthusiastic person for the position of Lecturer to join the Pre-qualifying Healthcare Practice Department as part of the Foundation Degree in Health & Social Care (Higher Apprenticeship) team. We are looking for dynamic and adaptable candidates who will work flexibly as part of a team, contributing to teaching, learning and assessment to support a high quality trainee experience.

There are a suite of pathways within the well-established Foundation Degree in Health & Social Care programme that has been recognised for quality education provision by achieving the Skills for Health Quality Award as well as a Good provider rating from Ofsted. The programme contains core modules that all apprentices/trainees will study as well as variety of specialist pathways including Surgical Care Support, Adult Care, Maternity Support, Diagnostic Radiography, Mammography and Mental Health. There will be an expectation for you to support teaching across the core modules.

Previous experience of supporting learners in the clinical/ care setting is essential, as you will be a personal tutor on this programme, acting as a link between clinical practice and the university visiting and supporting learners and their Clinical Learning Facilitators within their placement / work place areas.

This position requires applicants to be a Registered Nurse (NMC Part1) or registered with HCPC. You will have experience of work-based learning, and must possess a degree, ideally together with either a relevant higher degree or appropriate professional qualifications at post graduate level. Previous teaching in a higher education and a teaching qualification is essential.
