The School of Health and Social Care is seeking to appoint a full-time Lecturer in Advanced Clinical Practice (ACP). This will include module leadership for Consultation & Assessment, Non-Medical Prescribing, and development of/ contribution to other specialist CPD courses where appropriate. The post holder would support students undertaking ACP courses both as stand alone modules and as part of a Post-Graduate ACP pathway (including dissertation supervision).
We would particularly welcome applications from individuals that are keen to contribute actively to excellence in education by designing and delivering broadly based, substantive and effective teaching, and provide learning support, at undergraduate and postgraduate levels (e.g. curriculum development and review, assessment and feedback, research supervision, etc.) as agreed with the Dean of School/ Head of Group for Nursing & Health Studies. Applicants should have a strong commitment to team working and to enhancing the contribution of both research and education in Advanced Clinical Practice.
The successful candidate will be expected to deliver excellent education, to contribute to the administration and management of the School, and to the local, regional and international profile of the School. The candidate would be expected to have a good degree in a relevant field of health care practice, including qualification as a Non-Medical Prescriber.
All staff are expected to dedicate time within their workload for ‘Scholarship and Professional Practice’. We would therefore seek to establish an arrangement for the post holder to maintain their clinical practice as an ACP as part of their employment with the University. In addition we welcome applications for those seeking to undertake this post as part-time/ job share to balance their time in clinical and academic practice and will explore these options with those invited to interview.
