The vision of the Department of Nursing Science is to provide high-quality education and research that supports excellence in practice to the benefit of all those who access healthcare, nationally and globally. The department is a supportive and vibrant community of staff, practitioners, students and service users who work in partnership. The department prepares Pre-registration nursing students from three fields of Nursing and postgraduate health professionals. As Lecturer (Academic) in Practice Simulation you will be expected to lead the planning and delivery of the teaching in the clinical simulation lab, also to guide, support and facilitate the development of the Clinical Demonstration team.
We are seeking an individual to coordinate the educational delivery of practice simulation, demonstrating excellence in teaching clinical skills to Nursing undergraduate students; and contributing to curriculum development within the department. Applications from individuals with current clinical nursing expertise and experience of supporting nursing students learning are particularly welcome. You must be registered on the Nursing and Midwifery Council Register and have, or be willing to undertake, a relevant teaching qualification. Recent study at Masters level (7) would be advantageous. There is scope for personal and professional development, and you will join a credible and dynamic team who are committed to working with practice partners to promote and develop evidenced-based, competent, clinical care in nursing.

You will be qualified to Doctoral level or be able to demonstrate the ability to create and disseminate knowledge at an equivalent level and the capability to convert this knowledge into a doctorate in a maximum of 3-5 years from date of appointment.
