With the vision to lead an attractive, contemporary, connected lifelong learning experience for learners, University Hospitals Birmingham (UHB) has set out a clear ambition to launch the UHB School of Nursing, Allied Health Professionals and Midwifery.

We are looking for an inspirational leader to provide strategic leadership for the UHB School.

With a significant focus on partnership working the Head of School will exercise responsibility on behalf of the Chief Nurse and Director of Education, as part of the senior leadership team, for the strategic and operational development of the School’s curriculum and delivery models.

The UHB School will have a dedicated delivery and governance structure to support the vision of designing, developing and introducing new models of support and clinical education to facilitate positive learning experiences, support health and wellbeing and foster a sense of belonging to UHB.

We are looking for a Head of School who can demonstrate the requisite professional and academic leadership skills to develop, deliver and lead the UHB School of Nursing, AHP’s and Midwifery. A doctorate (PhD, EdD or Professional Doctorate) or academic masters level is a requirement of the role in a discipline aligned to the school.

The Head of School will be instrumental in advancing the ongoing enrichment of the learning environments across the Trust in order to support current, new and future learning that forms the UHB School Portfolio.

Applicants should have a personal track record of excellence in clinical and academic leadership, leading change through strategic partnerships and across networks, high quality teaching, and be able to demonstrate leadership in managing complex projects.
