Following a recent subject review, we are seeking to transform our social work and social care offer and wish to appoint an enthusiastic leader to join our team as Head of Social Work.

The role will focus on leadership of the Social Work team and further developing the existing academic provision of social work courses at foundation, undergraduate and post-graduate levels.

You will lead the academic team in new curriculum and research developments in partnership with employers and key stakeholders. Through excellent leadership and management, you will support and achieve:

  • delivery of courses of the highest academic standards
  • enhancement of the student experience
  • effective collaborative partnership working with stakeholders
  • further development of the faculty’s portfolio of courses
  • generation of growth in the course offer and in research and enterprise.

You will be educated to a minimum of a Master’s degree level or equivalent and will have experience of working in partnership with employers in social work. You will have an excellent understanding of the policy landscape associated with professional social work and social work education. You will be required to engage with key stakeholders to deliver a dynamic, responsive and research enriched curriculum. Dedication to innovative teaching, learning and research activities within social work are also a requirement of the post.
