The Faculty of Health and Life Sciences is responsible for educating over 6,000 students from undergraduate to doctoral levels. We have excellent student satisfaction and graduate employment rates alongside leading research.

The School of Nursing, Midwifery and Health educates some 2,000 students across the nursing, midwifery and allied health professions leading to professional registration as well as post-qualification and associated studies. The Head of School is responsible for leading some one hundred academic and professional services colleagues to deliver these programmes, working in close partnership with health economy colleagues to ensure our courses are fit for purpose.

We are therefore seeking an exceptional individual to join us as a key member of the Faculty’s leadership team. You will be expected to provide the School with strategic direction and academic (pedagogical and research) leadership. You will lead on the development of new opportunities, not least as we move our health programmes into the new (‘self-funded’) regime. You will be expected to manage effectively the School’s resources, including the devolved budget, while furthering growth and enhancing provision quality. Also of vital importance is the development of a national and international profile for the School and its subjects.
