GPhC Registered External Examiner required for Non-Medical Prescribing

The University of Central Lancashire is seeking to appoint an experienced and suitably qualified academic to act as External Examiner for the Non-Medical Prescribing course (Independent & Supplementary Prescribing Qualification) for Pharmacists and AHPs.

The successful applicant MUST be registered with the GPhC and have the Independent Prescribing qualification. The applicant will also have experience of teaching and leading prescribing courses. He/she will be required to review both Level 6 and Level 7 work including a number of assessments. These include: numeracy exam; pharmacology exam; OSCE; Viva (L7 only) and a selection of 4000 word portfolios. There are 2 intakes per year (September and January).

The External Examiner will be expected to attend the programme assessment board, review a selection of student work and contribute to the overall assessment process.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced academic staff. All appointments are subject to the candidate meeting the University’s criteria. The appointment will be with effect from September 2016 and will be for a period of four years.
