The School of Health and Social Care is the largest school in London South Bank University with a long-standing reputation for excellence in the education, research and practice development of a variety of health and social care specialists. The school is seeking to appoint a replacement External Examiner to the following programmes:
Midwifery BSc (Hons) Pre Registration Midwifery (shortened course) and Midwifery CPPD provision
BSc (Hons) Midwifery (shortened course) of 90 weeks, leads to students becoming eligible to register with the Nursing and Midwifery Council as registered midwives. The midwifery CPPD provision includes the Return to Practice midwifery course (RCM & LSBU partnership), MSc Maternal and Reproductive Health and MSc Perinatal Mental Health.
The University operates a two-tier examination board system, with External examiners being initially appointed to a Subject Area Board where they will oversee a number of academic modules. More experienced External Examiners may subsequently be appointed to an Award and Progression Examination Board. The examination boards meet three times a year and there is an expectation that the External Examiner will attend at least one Examination Board and submit an annual report to the University.
