The University of Hertfordshire is seeking to appoint a module external examiner to ensure that our assessment and academic standards are being met. The modules form part of the BSc/MSc in Contemporary Nursing programmes. The post qualifying modules requiring external examiner include Assessment Physiology Based, Intensive Care, Emergency Care, Minor Illness/Injuries.
All applications are welcome from external examiners educated at MSc level and ideally with a clinical background in the modules listed. All applicants must have a current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council. Please apply with a brief expression of interest and CV, including any relevant clinical interest and/or academic experience. On-line submission is in place so most scripts can be viewed via our managed learning environment Canvas. The University runs an Induction Day where you will meet with the programme leaders. As an external examiner your duties would include:
- External moderation of a range of assessments
- Submission of an annual report to the Dean of Academic Quality and Enhancement.
- Attendance at Assessment Boards.
- Advising on any proposed module modifications / new modules
External examiner positions to commence September 2021 for four-year tenure. Appointment is subject to meeting the University’s criteria for the appointment of external examiners.
