External Examiners – Continuing Professional Development
Leeds Beckett University, Faculty of Health and Social Sciences, is seeking to appoint three External Examiners for our CPD Scheme for registered nurses, midwives and allied health professionals. In addition to stand alone modules, the scheme offers 3 awards:
BSc (Hons) Health and Community Care and MSc Health and Community Care
2 examiners are required for a range of modules on these awards, including our NMC approved modules Support for Learning in Practice, and Practice Teacher.
PG Dip/MSc Advanced Practice including our Non – Medical Prescribing modules
1 examiner required. Non-medical prescribing is NMC and HCPC approved.
Those appointed must be registered with the NMC. No previous experience of external examining is required as the University is able to provide mentorship to the successful applicants.
The appointments will commence in November 2016 and the tenure of appointments is for a period of four years. All External Examiner appointments are subject to approval by the University External Examiners Sub-committee. There is a two tier examination board system comprising of Examination Committees and Board of Examiners and External Examiners will be expected to attend Board of Examiners meetings at least once a year and submit an annual report.
