Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced lecturers in Health Promotion and Public Health. All appointments are subject to the candidate meeting the University’s criteria for appointment. The appointment will be with effect from October 2015 and will be for a minimum period of four years.
The objective of the BSc (Hons) Health Promotion and Public Health is to prepare students to provide high quality health promotion and public health interventions. Through the modules in this course students will acquire knowledge, attitudes and skills – knowledge of the concepts and theories of health promotion and public health, attitudes of the
empowering health promotion and public health practitioner and the analytical
skills necessary to identify and respond appropriately to client needs.
This programme intends to meet the needs of people who work in a variety of occupations and professions in which health promotion and public health are important aspects. These include local authority workers, nursing, teaching, voluntary work, professions allied to medicine, complementary and other therapists. There is one intake a year of approximately 60 students.
